What is essential in your trip?
2018年最後の平成の年末年始は旧友たちと海外で過ごした。
今回は香港、深セン、珠海、マカオと去年新しく開通したバスや新幹線
を使いながらボーダーを越えていった。
I spent the end and start of 2018 with my local friends abroad.
In this time, we went around Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Macau
via the latest shuttle bus and high-speed rail, crossing the borders.
観光をメインとする友人たち(A, Bとする)と過ごす中で、
旅に求めるものは違うと改めて感じた。
Spending time with my friends who love sightseeing,
I realized that what we value in a trip is different.
Aにとって旅の中で”発見”することが価値であり、
自分なりの気づきを得ることに重きがあった。
例えば、香港のとあるインスタ映えするスポットでは
国籍を問わず女子率の高さに驚いた、と話していた。
For my friend, A focused on finding something new
by his-self in a trip. For example, he was surprised at the
vast numbers of girls all over the world near an instagrammable site in Hong Kong.
また、Bにとって旅では、旅をした後にに誰かに
“伝えること”が重要であった。
例えば、香港やマカエで食べられるエッグタルトの美味しさで
あったり、香港と深センを繋ぐ高速鉄道に乗ったことである。
For another friend, B, always thinks about how to tell others.
For example, he wanted to share how delicious the egg tarts were and
how convenient the new high-speed rail from Hong Kong to Shenzhen was.
私にとって旅に求めるものは”挑戦”である。
今回の旅ではあえて中国語(普通語まれに広東語の片言単語)を
使ってやり取りをすることで、ピンチになるまで英語は控えていた。
なぜなら、私にとって旅は成長する機会であり、良いタイミングであるからだ。
In my opinion, however, I want to challenge something on a trip.
In this time, I tried to speak Chinese as much as I can, and
not to speak English except for facing a difficulty.
I like this way because I know every time challenging something new
makes me grow, and the unusual situation is suitable.
旅は人生の縮図であり、
非日常だからこそ、それぞれの人生で大切な価値観が違うのだろう。
The trip is a part of life.
We face an unusual situation at the time.
That’s why we want something important respectively.
平成最後の年を、同じく平成最後のメンバーで過ごし、
語り合うことができてよかった！
I was glad to spend time with my amazing friends who are the same-year old and the last year of the Heisei period in Japan.
お互い一緒に旅ができる素敵なパートナーを作っていきましょう 笑
