Today was an intense day. In the morning, I went to the ISS office, which is for international students, with my friend. We got plenty of information. We found we have to deal with them before class. By chance, there is a Japanese officer in the office. We asked them to speak English, and She gave us a lot of information. It was really beneficial.
After then, we canceled the meal plan that we contracted because it is expensive and inflexible. Next, we made a bank account in Stillwater National Bank. It is really convenient for us to access the bank inside the school. After that, we ate a hotdog.
We went back to my apartment because my RA told me that he took us to Wal-Mart in his car. Thanks to him, we go there and buy many things to live.
I had a culture shock in War-Mart. For One reason, this shop provides a wide variety of things cheaper than any other stores in a big area! In particular, the food corner is clearly different from Japan. For instance, it takes only 2~3$ to buy a pizza. Also, we can buy 12 coca-cola cans for 4$! I thought the difference might be from the gap of food, called self-sufficiency. Japan has only 40% self-sufficiency, so Japan imports 60% of the food. I found that food is clearly cheaper in America, but at the same time, it takes more money to buy mechanic products in America compared with Japan. I am willing to thank my RA. He is one of the most kinds persons I have ever met!
When I got to my apartment, I was so tired that I had 3 hours of sleeping time. After that, I was talking about sharing things with my roommates because we have a sharing floor. We deiced that, in general, we use things freely each other, but there are also a few exceptions. For example, food is the most challenging problem. We determined that the upper place in the refrigerator is for own space, so one could not eat or drink without permission.
After that, I cooked noodles with two slices of bacon! It is chicken soup tastes and not so bad.
I found that if we take action, we will get an opportunity definitely.
