I talked with my roommate, Codi.
He is a mixed person between American African and European.
He majors in History. I talked about American History, WWII, and Race.
I was impressed with his way because he is really “thinking.”
He gave me a nice example. Although he learned Pearl Harbor for nine pages in text, he only learned Hiroshima for one page. He was angry with the book since the information is biased.
Next, we talked about Japanese animations. He asked me a question that why many Japanese characters are based on European people. I gave one opinion that our sense of beauty changed after Meiji Era by European Imperialism. But I also suggest that we regard white color women as beautiful from 1000 years ago in Heian Era.
Moreover, we talked about race. He looks black colored rather than whiter color. But, his skin is similar to mine, except for his face. I disclosed that I was surprised when I saw many Mexicans regarded as brown colored since I only thought about white, yellow, and black colored.
I’m thrilled because I met two fantastic roommates in my apartment.
